Unarmed Security

Studies have shown that commercial entities don’t necessarily need to invest in armed security services to deter criminal activity from taking place on their properties. Simply hiring unarmed security guards could be enough to prevent trespassing, vandalism, burglaries, and other crimes.

CSSI’s unarmed security services will set you up with security officers (SOs). They can play a significant role in helping to keep an event safe or provide a commercial property with enhanced security. Our unarmed SOs are often stationary and trained to observe and report potential safety issues to law enforcement departments.

We do not usually suggest hiring SOs alone for special events unless armed law enforcement officers (LEOs) and/or protection officers (POs) accompany them. However, they are an excellent option for those searching for security professionals to patrol their properties regularly and maintain safety.

Armed Security

Our unarmed SOs can effectively manage the security of smaller events and commercial properties. Still, we recommend considering our armed security services if you’re planning a significant event or require guards to oversee the safety of a larger property. Our armed POs are often retired police officers or executive-level SOs who are highly skilled at keeping everything from elegant events to empty construction sites safe.

Here is what you can expect when you hire armed private security guards from CSSI:

We will offer POs who can perform a full scope of duties, including access control, foot patrols, and vehicle patrols, and work in conjunction with local law enforcement agencies to monitor your event.
We will outfit POs in black uniforms with duty belts to give them a highly professional appearance, or we will ensure they wear blazers to provide an executive look.
We will have POs work in a security capacity as per California’s BSIS security regulations.
We will schedule the total number of POs requested when you arrange for security services or help you decide how many you should have based on the guest list for your event.

CSSI will also tailor our armed security services to meet your specific needs.

Firewatch Security

Wildfires have become a significant problem for residential and commercial property owners in California and Nevada. Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that this issue will disappear anytime soon. In addition to offering conventional unarmed and armed private security services, CSSI can also provide firewatch security.

When you bring our guards on board to supply firewatch security services, they will:

Take further action to prevent fire-related incidents
Monitor areas with increased fire risks
Identify possible fire hazards
Communicate with first responders about potential dangers
Recommend evacuations to those in compromised areas

Vehicle Patrol Security

Would you prefer to have security guards patrolling your event or property in marked vehicles, rather than on foot? This is another area in which CSSI can assist you in making any event or commercial property safer.

Whether you choose unarmed or armed security services, we can provide security guards in professional patrol vehicles to monitor the premises. The mere sight of these eye-catching vehicles is sometimes enough to stop those looking for trouble from causing problems on your property.

Event Management Security

After devoting hours to planning an event, the last thing you want is for security-related issues to cause disturbances during it or, worse, force you to end the event earlier than expected. With CSSI’s unarmed and armed security services, you will not have to worry about these things happening.

From small gatherings at schools to massive outdoor festivals, our dedicated team of security professionals is trained to patrol events and keep the peace. You are welcome to arrange foot patrols, vehicle patrols, or some combination of both to ensure any event is as safe as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Security Services

Get answers to FAQs about unarmed and armed security services below.

What Are Private Protective Services?

Private protective services is a phrase used to describe the many security services that a company like CSSI can provide. This includes everything from basic services performed by security officers to more advanced services offered by law enforcement officers.

What Is the Difference Between Unarmed vs. Armed Security?

The difference between unarmed vs. armed security involves the level of force that guards can use. Unarmed guards often carry non-lethal defense tools, such as pepper spray and/or batons, while armed guards are legally permitted to carry firearms and allowed to use lethal force if necessary.

What Are Private Security Services Allowed to Do?

Private security services are authorized to deter criminal activity by requesting individuals to leave properties, notifying law enforcement about incidents involving trespassing, vandalism, assault, and other offenses, and making citizen’s arrests in certain situations. However, they are not authorized to act as actual law enforcement officers, which prevents them from making real arrests or conducting searches.
